Counselling, what is it and how can it help me?

 

Counselling, is helping someone to help themselves.

 

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, confusing or simply too much to carry on your own. Therapeutic counselling offers a warm, supportive and confidential space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind, without fear or judgement.

 

Being truly listened to can be a powerful and healing experience. Counselling gives you the opportunity to slow down, make sense of your thoughts and feelings, and explore the experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing. Together, we can gently work through the challenges you are facing and help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

 

People come to counselling for lots of different reasons, including anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, life transitions, grief, or simply to understand themselves better. You don't have to have everything figured out before you come. Counselling is a space where we can explore things are your pace, in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you.

About me...

Hello, I am Janine and I am an integrative counsellor who is passionate about helping others. I am a wife and a mum to three children and best friend to my cockerpoo, Woody. I love taking him out on big walks in the woods or to the beach.

 

My qualification is a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, accredited by The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (of which I am an accredited member).

 

I am currently offering a face to face service within the Neath and Port Talbot area. I can also offer online video and telephone sessions to ensure that I reach as many people who are facing struggles with their mental health.

 

I have experience of working with primary school children through to young people and adults. I have found that by providing a non-judgemental, safe space for my clients they are able to feel at ease when sharing their story.
